Rogue Pool is your local pool and spa service and repair company. With over 15 years of experience, we know how to help. We have knowledge and training with most brands of spas and pool equipment.
We specialize in not just fixing the problem, but finding ways to prevent future problems. Most problems begin with poor water quality. Getting the water balanced and keeping it that way is the key to getting the most out of your pool and spa equipment.
We combine proven methods with current training, products, research, and approaches to take your experience to the next level, making your water healthier for you and for your pool or hot tub. Along with a variety of service options, so that whatever contribution level you’d like to make, your water will be inviting you anytime you need it.
A note about maintenance frequency: Maintenance needs to be done weekly to avoid the water becoming too corrosive or allowing bacteria and algae to grow. Some homeowners enjoy doing service themselves but like to have it done professionally once per month just to avoid mistakes. Some like to contribute more, so they have us come every other week. Others would rather have it ready to swim with minimal effort, so we go every week (which is the most often we’re able to go). Prices are slightly less per service the more often we go because we have more certainty about the expected condition of the pool. We also offer package pricing which adds spa service for a small additional fee if we’re already there for the pool.
Chemical check and balance only: We charge a lower fee to only test and balance the water. The customer is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing.
Spa service only: I rinse the filters when needed, make sure the chemistry is balanced, clean and condition the cover seasonally, and vacuum sand and debris. This service is primarily to help keep the water balanced so it’s easier for the customer to maintain, and so that the water doesn’t become corrosive and begin destroying the spa, equipment, and plumbing.
Pool filter and salt cell cleaning are commonly done together in spring before the season starts, and fall after the season ends. This optimizes the pool for winter and makes start up easier in the spring.
Dirty filters slow down circulation and cause water to be a stagnant swamp instead of a clear stream. Algae can also build up in the filter and feeding algae growth in the pool. Sometimes filter sand or filter cartridges fail and allow the water to pass through unfiltered, causing the pool to need more chlorine or algaecide. Spring and fall are a good time to inspect the filters and gauges and note or repair anything that isn’t working properly.
Saltwater Chlorine Generators are used in pools to generate an appropriate amount of chlorine to keep the pool clean. These cells draw lots of scale and minerals which handicap the cell’s ability to work properly or at all. They should be cleaned routinely to kelp them working properly and working longer. The cell is pulled out and soaked in a descaling solution until it is clean, then rinsed out and reinstalled.
We will drive to the customer’s home, assess the problem, come up with a solution, discuss options, and either repair the pool/spa or order parts and return to repair it. Giving clear and reasonable expectations and communicating are things our team values. Sometimes this means encouraging a customer not to proceed with a repair if the perceived cost outweighs the value. We only use quality new parts (it’s surprising how many other companies go out with used/salvaged parts or cheap knockoff parts which don’t last and they won’t warranty) and won’t sell you unnecessary parts or products. Our work is guaranteed for what is reasonable based on the equipment used and repair required. If a repair fails prematurely, we will return to fix it. Our repair goals are to fix the problem and provide information to help prevent future break downs. We always bill with character and integrity.
