At Rogue Pool we don't just repair pools and spas, we optimize performance.
Our goal is to balance your water to get the most out of your pool or spa!

Rogue Pool is your local pool and spa service and repair company. With over 15 years of experience, we know how to help. We have knowledge and training with most brands of spas and pool equipment.

We specialize in not just fixing the problem, but finding ways to prevent future problems. Most problems begin with poor water quality. Getting the water balanced and keeping it that way is the key to getting the most out of your pool and spa equipment.

We combine proven methods with current training, products, research, and approaches to take your experience to the next level, making your water healthier for you and for your pool or hot tub. Along with a variety of service options, so that whatever contribution level you’d like to make, your water will be inviting you anytime you need it.

SERVICE & CLEANING OPTIONS

WHAT ARE MY SERVICE OPTIONS?

SERVICE FREQUENCY: weekly, BI-WEEKLY, & MONTHLY

We will drive out and test water chemistry first with a professional water test kit. We’ll then use a telescopic pole and brush to brush the pool as needed, along with a leaf rake to net out leaves and debris. We’ll use our own state of the art vacuum system so that in most cases we don’t have to vacuum debris into the customer’s filter. We’ll then administer products according to the dosages needed so the pool or spa and equipment lasts longer and keeps the water clear, pretty, and safe for swimmers. I use natural chemicals whenever possible to avoid needing harsh chemicals like algaecides or high levels of chlorine. This is where our tagline: “Better Water, Naturally” comes from! We will clean filters when needed based on timeframe and/or filter pressure. When we leave, we email a clear and professional service ticket with photos and a description of the condition/products used. This both protects us (in case a storm comes through after we leave and blows in debris) and adds value to the customer – knowing when we’ve been there and what was done (and excitement to get home and use it)!

A note about maintenance frequency: Maintenance needs to be done weekly to avoid the water becoming too corrosive or allowing bacteria and algae to grow. Some homeowners enjoy doing service themselves but like to have it done professionally once per month just to avoid mistakes. Some like to contribute more, so they have us come every other week. Others would rather have it ready to swim with minimal effort, so we go every week (which is the most often we’re able to go). Prices are slightly less per service the more often we go because we have more certainty about the expected condition of the pool. We also offer package pricing which adds spa service for a small additional fee if we’re already there for the pool.

Chemical check and balance only: We charge a lower fee to only test and balance the water. The customer is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing.

Spa service only: I rinse the filters when needed, make sure the chemistry is balanced, clean and condition the cover seasonally, and vacuum sand and debris. This service is primarily to help keep the water balanced so it’s easier for the customer to maintain, and so that the water doesn’t become corrosive and begin destroying the spa, equipment, and plumbing.

I have seen many times irreversible damage done to a pool or spa in a window of 6 months due to corrosive acid water often as a result of over-chlorination or unchecked water balance.

Pool Filter Cleaning & Pool Salt Cell Cleaning

Pool filter and salt cell cleaning are commonly done together in spring before the season starts, and fall after the season ends. This optimizes the pool for winter and makes start up easier in the spring.

Dirty filters slow down circulation and cause water to be a stagnant swamp instead of a clear stream. Algae can also build up in the filter and feeding algae growth in the pool. Sometimes filter sand or filter cartridges fail and allow the water to pass through unfiltered, causing the pool to need more chlorine or algaecide. Spring and fall are a good time to inspect the filters and gauges and note or repair anything that isn’t working properly.

Saltwater Chlorine Generators are used in pools to generate an appropriate amount of chlorine to keep the pool clean. These cells draw lots of scale and minerals which handicap the cell’s ability to work properly or at all. They should be cleaned routinely to kelp them working properly and working longer. The cell is pulled out and soaked in a descaling solution until it is clean, then rinsed out and reinstalled.

POOL AND SPA EQUIPMENT REPAIR

WHAT DOES THIS SERVICE INCLUDE?

We will drive to the customer’s home, assess the problem, come up with a solution, discuss options,  and either repair the pool/spa or order parts and return to repair it. Giving clear and reasonable expectations and communicating are things our team values. Sometimes this means encouraging a customer not to proceed with a repair if the perceived cost outweighs the value. We only use quality new parts (it’s surprising how many other companies go out with used/salvaged parts or cheap knockoff parts which don’t last and they won’t warranty) and won’t sell you unnecessary parts or products. Our work is guaranteed for what is reasonable based on the equipment used and repair required. If a repair fails prematurely, we will return to fix it. Our repair goals are to fix the problem and provide information to help prevent future break downs. We always bill with character and integrity.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

WHAT OTHER SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

Pool and Spa One Hour Tutorial
(Including operating equipment and water care)

Many people who purchase a new home have never owned a pool or spa before, and it can be daunting to learn via YouTube because every system works and operates differently. With an in-person tutorial, we work with you and explain equipment and processes so you can see and experience it firsthand. This helps you to remember much better (especially with notes), and have more confidence in what you’re doing. We also explain why certain steps are important, just because water is clear doesn’t mean that it’s good for the pool or good to swim in.

Pool and Spa Real Estate Inspection

Many homeowners, especially with young families, see a pool and get excited without considering the condition of the pool or the repairs needed to make it functional. Many pools are never updated and use equipment that isn’t up to code and/or is considered unsafe. Many pools have plumbing that is broken or equipment that doesn’t work. The pool surface could also be falling apart, sometimes requiring tens of thousands of dollars to repair. We will run the equipment and take notes on things that would concern us if we were the homeowner. Sometimes there is enough damage to justify backing out of the purchase altogether, and customers save themselves lots of work, money, and headaches. We offer inspections with spas as well.

Chemical Sales (Water Balance Products)

We don’t have a brick and mortar store yet, but I do offer local delivery of pool and spa products. This is especially beneficial to customers who like to shop locally but would rather stay home, or who are unable to drive or travel alone. We have several customers who text orders to us and we deliver when we’re in the area.
